Recently i had the delight of trying out some new cruelty-free brands as they were added to Sephora Singapore. One among them was ‘KOPARI‘. Their entire brand is based on ‘coconuts’ as the main ingredient. Their products are all natural and are free from GMO, gluten, paraben and sulphate. Funny that this word sounded very familiar to me that i went to their page and read about it. Their brand name was picked after the Indian word ‘kopparai‘ 🙂 ha ha no wonder. In Tamil, we call the coconut outer shell or a dried version of the coconut as ‘kopparai‘ or ‘kopparai thenggai‘ this was an interesting read. I picked out two of their products, the infamous kopari lip glossy and a toner. A small review on both the products and my thoughts on them. Here we go.

Where to get:

I grabbed mine from the Sephora here. But you can get this from their website directly, they ship only to US, UK, Canada and Australia. Another option is to purchase from amazon.

Product Description:

The lip glossy comes in a small tube, similar to most lip balms. You get 8g of product in this. I like the glossy outer surface, the text , the color combination, it is over-all a really cute and minimal packaging idea. You could easily pop it in you purse, bag or pocket. It is also available in 4 different shades. But the Sephora here carries only the transparent / clear version. The consistency is slightly jelly like and somewhat semi fluid. The scent is a mix of coconut and vanilla. The ingredients include coconut oil, castor oil and shea butter. And this product is vegan. It is a non-sticky balm that you could use as a clear lip gloss, lip balm or as a lip treatment. It is also loaded with antioxidants for nourished, smooth lips. It claims to provide hydration for chapped lips by locking in the moisture.

The coconut rose toner come is a sturdy spray bottle. It has similar color theme going on as well. The bottom ‘pink’ part of the packaging feels velvety and the top ‘white’ side is smooth and glossy. It is on the pricey yet affordable range. You get 150 ml product. The spray nozzle is very good gentle on the skin and gives a full coverage to the face in 1-2 sprays. It has a rosy coconut scent to it, however more of coconut. The ingredients include coconut oil, castor oil, witch hazel, vanilla bean, lavender, organic chamomile, rose extract, algae and citric acid. This toner is alcohol free and vegan as well. They claim this toner hydrates, evens skin tone, fights off bacteria that causes acne, reduce pores, blemishes, redness and restore skin ph.

Usage:

I have suffered of dry lips for most parts of my life and this lip balm has changed this for me. I discovered this around the same time as ‘Tatcha’s camillia lip balm’, if you are interested i have full review on this here. If you have dry lips these two are the only lip balms you’ll ever need. The kopari lip glossy being an even more affordable option. This just glides on the lips in one swipe. It stays on the lips for a really good time, i generally don’t have to re-apply it that often. It make a perfect clear gloss, and goes beautifully on any sort of lipstick product. I use it alone or combined with my lipstick. It is not sticky yet lasts long. I carry it with me all time and entire day. It keeps my lips hydrated as it claims. However the smell is bit funny, i’m not mad at the coconut scent but combined with the vanilla it is kind of weird. It is not so strong, you could only smell it during application other times it is fine. But that wont stop me from buying it again 🙂 . I can overlook that for the effectiveness of this product.

I like the toner, you get a good amount of product. I use it generally in the evening after i cleanse my face. The toner has that soapy kind of feel to it which i’m not a big fan of. I do have blemish prone skin and i have been using this alongside with some other toners so i can’t speak to its claim of acne / blemish reducing. Probably i’ll do a regular use and add an update to this post later. But it is definitely hydrating and makes my skin feel refreshed and smooth. This can also be used as makeup primer or setting spray, which i haven’t tested yet. It is a good toner, but the jury is still out on this one 🙂 .

Pro’s:

  • Natural and chemical free
  • Cruelty-free and vegan
  • For tropical lovers
  • Hydrating, moisturizing and smooth
  • Meets all its claims
  • Affordable
  • Long lasting

Con’s:

  • Cant really find a con to this 🙂

My Review:

This is a lovely brand especially for the tropical and coconut lovers out there. It is awesome for an au-naturale girl . They are made of amazing and quality ingredients, no doubt. I will definitely be repurchasing the lip-glossy that has to be my favorite out of both. And i would love to try some more products from them in future.

What to do you guys think? Have you tried anything from them? Do let me know if you have any recommendations 🙂 i would like to get your opinion.

……………………..Until next time 🙂 Vegandiarist ♥♥♥
