This year there were quite some number of brands added to Sephora Singapore of which 6-7 were cruelty-free brands. This has been an exciting and expensive year 😉 I did go out and splurge mainly to test some of these brands and to give some insights for you guys on what is worth the money. One such brand was ‘Tatcha’, new addition this year.

Where to get:

I purchased mine from Sephora’s website from here. You could also purchase from the Tatcha’s website directly here, they ship international but shipping charges would be an additional expense.

Product Description:

This was the first and only product i have tried from this brand so far and i’m so glad i chose this. I have heard some good reviews here and there about this product and decided to try for myself. Looking at Tatcha’s website they seem to come in different colors/flavors. There is also a new ‘kissu lip mask’ released by them, this is yet to come to  Singapore’s Sephora. I would probably give that a try when it is available here.

The ‘camellia gold spun lip balm’ comes in a beautiful and luxury looking packaging. It comes with a small leaflet inside that gives some insights about this lip balm’s history. The actual lip balm comes in a clear plastic container that is not bulky and very classy looking. There is nothing not to love about it. You get 6 grams of product, it doesn’t seem like much but it lasts for long time. The lip balm is transparent as well except for the gold flakes that shows through it. It also has a slight citrusy scent. There is actual 23-karat gold flakes spun into the lip balm. This claims to provide some glam and shine to the lips. And the lip balm is supposed to lock in the moisture. It is also rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, so it can provide nourishment and protection to the lips. The main ingredient includes ‘camellia oil’. This is a commonly used ingredient in beauty and skin care products. It apparently is a quick absorb and intense hydration lip balm. It is ideal for all skin types and is non-irritating and has no harmful chemicals. It is cruelty-free and vegan as well.

I have always suffered from dry lips from young age. No matter what lip balm i apply this is like a forever problem for me. So you can imagine, i have tried loads of lip balm types and brands out there. This was a bit of splurge but i still wanted to try and see if it had any effect on me. I use this in the morning along with my skincare routine. It also makes any lipstick formula glide on top smoothly and lasts on the lips comfortably without that feeling of drying. Even with matte lipsticks this is the case. On its own, this looks lovely as well, it provides juicy lips and the gold kind of dissolves onto the lips and providing a natural shine. I also love using this in the night before bed to have hydrated lips for the next day.

  • Ultra hydrated lips

My Review:

I thin I know what you are thinking, this is just a lip balm and i’m possibly exaggerating. But actually i’m blown away by this. If you are anything like me suffering from dry lips i highly recommend it! This is probably the only lip balm you would need. Rather than using through 5 of 10$ lip balms in a year, you can invest on one solid product. I have been using it for 3-4 months now and i have only made a dent. And i apply a generous amount. I loved it so much that i already have got another tub during the Sephora’s sale. Essentials like these can be picked up during the sale, a money saving tip 🙂 .

If you don’t suffer from dry lips then i wont recommend you invest in this. You can definitely treat yourself to this luxury once in awhile but not a necessity to purchase. That would be my review, a must have for dry lip queens and kings out there 🙂 .

Have you guys tried this already? Do you have any other recommendation? Do let me know in the comments below, i would love to hear from you wonderful people.
